my laptop is incredibly unreliable at opening Minecraft. It has crashed all but three times in 25+ tries.

The Minecraft application freezes then crashes almost every time I hit start on the launcher screen. I have tried everything i have found, defining a specific java version, reinstalling Minecraft, deleting the .Minecraft folder, nothing has worked. I just want to get on to play some realms.
