"Game Already Running" error

Launcher says I am "...already logged into Minecraft as this user". My account should not be in use (by anyone other than me) so I'm sure why I'm getting this message. Can you please help?
This happens in every version of Minecraft that I attempted to access.

PS. I'm not tech savvy so if you start asking me technical questions, I likely won't be able to answer.
