New Launcher will not work on Windows 10 laptop

I have been playing on my Minecraft for some time now and the new launcher (2.0) does not work on my new Windows 10 laptop. I have downloaded the old launcher and that works fine, but I still would like to get it fixed. So, the launcher is open, I press Play and Mine-craft is stuck in an endless loop of "Not Responding". No crash log. How do I fix this.
