Every time I open minecraft this message pops up: Minecraft launcher has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.

Every time I open the launcher it crashes and displays the message after "Minecraft launcher has stopped working. Windows is checking for a solution to the problem." I can't play minecraft anymore, I've tried reinstalling it but I get the same thing every time. Also, when I open my .minecraft folder(after reinstall), there's nothing but the launcher_log.txt and launcher_profiles.json for some reason(sorry I am new to this kind of thing).
