Minecraft V.1.12.1 Freeze/Crash

The launcher page loads everything fine, I press the play button a new window shows up with the Mojang symbol labeled Minecraft V1.12.1 then a few seconds later turns to Minecraft V1.12.1 (Not responding) This screen will stay like that until I press the X in the upper right part of the window in which then brings me back to the launcher page and a Notice pops up saying game crash
