Cannot Launch Any Version Above 1.11.2

I can't launch minecraft- here's a video of the whole procedure I take.

I try to launch 1.12 (and older versions), but it comes to the same loop. I hit the "Play" button and I get the error message "Could not find main class: net.minecraft.client.main.Main," press "OK" and get sent back to the launcher. It's an infinite loop.
