Unable to Download file ru_ru.lang or hit3.ogg

I uninstalled minecraft because I originally couldn't get 1.12 to work. It kept saying failed to download file. ru_ru.lang. After reinstatement all was fine until minecraft was redownloading and an error saying, "failed to download file hit3.ogg." There was a similar issue to this but it does not solve for Mac OS X, it solves for Windows. All of us Mac OS X users would really like to be able to play minecraft again.
