Minecraft Launcher Will Not Load

Before I downloaded the new launcher Minecraft would work just fine and I would play it everyday. All of a sudden it wont load past the Mojang screen, and if it does it freezes on the home screen and crashes. I've tried re-downloading the game and java but that hasn't worked. Please help I just want to play Minecraft
