I can not launch minecraft

I can launch minecraft but it stays at the first point when it says "Mojang". I do not know why it's doing this, i changed the compatibility from Windows XP to Windows Vista and it actually launched perfectly but as soon as i tried joining a server or realms it froze and it did not let me do anything.
