I am able to open the launcher, but it crashes when I try to log in, giving me an exit code 139 and invalid memory access location

crashes when I try to log in, giving me an exit code 139 and invalid memory access location
Steps to Reproduce:
1. open launcher
2. login
3. get result
4. I have a feeling that there is a compatibility error with the 1.6.1 launcher and Mac OSX, which needs to be resolved
