LAN Bug

When I want to play with a family member they enter with me and it says: "java.net.connectexception connection timed out no further information" And sometimes people's LAN world or my LAN world doesn't appear to either and I know this is a duplicate but I don't know where exactly in Mojang Support Center I should go could you please tell me exactly what to do!
