It wont load after the launcher closes i didn't have this on the old launcher and i cant seem to get the old one back

when ever the laucher loads up after i hit the play button it closes the laucher and just doesnt load the game it is odd because I tried it with most of the latest versions but when I tried to use 1.9 and it loaded the game while this has been a problem in the past I just had to use a different laucher but now it bugs me because i opened curse to play a modpack and it just wont open the game
