i cant open any versions ever since the 1.12 update

the bug I am have is making it so when I try to ever join a game it crashes on the lancher screen
What I expected to happen was...:
Describe what you thought should happen here
it should bring me into the game version
What actually happened was...: it said my game crashed

Steps to Reproduce:
1. you go on a windows 10 labtop you click the minecraft launcher
2.you click the version you want to play then it crashes
3. over and over and over and over.
