Java crashes at launch (windows 10 pro 1703)

Minecraft was working fine prior to Microsoft rolling out the Creative update.
After the update java crashes every time.
I have since uninstalled both Minecraft and java and reinstalled only minecraft and am attempting to launch the game with no modifications.
