Game won't load

So, everytime i load up minecraft,whenever it gets to the "MOJANG" text screen, it just freezes like that forever. I've reinstalled and uninstalled mutipal times. I think it might be the launcher, because i tried using the older launcher, and the game loads up but every mob or player texture is steve or alex and my game runs at a much slowers FPS.
