Minecraft Launcher Won't Launch

When I hit the shortcut to the new Minecraft Launcher on my desktop, nothing opens. I tried restarting my system, launching it from the actual file location (non-shortcut), waiting 30 minutes. Nothing happens. I click it and nothing will ever open. In Task Manager, it is listed in "Background processes" as "Minecraft launcher (32 bit)". I have no idea what to do, it doesn't open no matter what I try and I don't get any error messages or anything.
