Unable to launch Minecraft for Windows.

When I double click the icon on my desktop, it loads (I can visually see the game if I hover over the icon in the taskbar) but it will not load the game to desktop. If I install an older launcher or a 3rd part launcher, it works fine. Any ideas?

I do have files saved from running DxDiag and Hijackthis (from the IRC room on minecraft.net)
