New launcher isn't working

Can open the launcher just fine, when i press play the bar fills up and then closes, Minecraft opens and then stays on the loading screen where it says MOJANG forever. if i click anywhere on the screen it will stop responding. Minecraft worked with the old launcher and not with this one
