Game always crashes and fail to start when starting through new launcher

After the previous launcher update about a week ago the game suddenly could not start and crashed on startup with unspecified error (nothing in log). Since then I have reinstalled the system that fixed it but another launcher update (the one with new looks) now also crashes the game on startup. I have tried reinstalling Minecraft (also the launcher), graphics drivers and Java. The problem persists with only 64-bit Java or with both 32-bit/64-bit installed. I do not see anything in the logs, just these two lines:
