Can't play? "Minecraft Launcher has stopped working..."

Basically, every time I start up the launcher, a message comes up and just says, "Minecraft Launcher has stopped working." It never had this issue with the old launcher? At least not that I was familiar with. Once in a while (1 in every 20 or so attempts) it actually works and all is well. But 95% of the time it doesnt work. Thanks for your great work on this!
