Can't play minecraft multiplayer at all?

My friend can't use minecraft. When he opens it, it works fine, but when he joins a server and chat he's minecraft freeze, or does not respond. We need help, we tryed reinstalling and updating hes graphics card (Nvidia Geforce GTX 1060) with no luck. He is really desperate after playing. No crash logs is available, because minecraft dosen't crash it will not respond.
