When I press "Play" in the launcher, the launcher opens a fourth tab named "Game Output"

When I open the MC launcher, I originally have 3 tabs, "update notes", "launcher log" and "profile editor". When I press play, a fourth tab appears to the far right called "Game Output " with my user name after it. This new tab is completely empty, no graphics or text. I can go to the other tabs and they appear normal, but every time I press play I am dumped back into the fourth tab and nothing else happens.

I have not recently updated MC or downloaded any mods, the only change has been a system upgrade to the newest iOS version
