Not being able to login

I'm not able to login to minecraft.
I recently just got minecraft so I don't know if I'm being stupid
or if this is actually a bug
But whenever I try to login it says that

Please make sure that you are online and that Minecraft is not blocked
(SunCertPathBuilderException: unable to find valid certification path to requested target)
