Game wont properly start.

I reinstalled Minecraft on my new desktop. ( I already bought it a few months back)
When I opened it the launcher was on the screen. (okay normal...)
But, when I clicked play, it would open for less than a second, the close, and reopen the launcher.
And of course im bad at computers and I don't know what to really do.
