Every time I click on the "Play" button the Minecraft launcher activates but it crashes right before Minecraft opens

Every time I click on the "Play" button the Minecraft launcher activates but it crashes right before Minecraft opens.

What I expected to happen was for the Minecraft Game to open successfully.

What actually happened was the game crashes right before the game opens
After the launcher activated, there was a 5 second delay before the game crashed

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Press the "Play" button as normal
2. Wait a couple of seconds
3. Game crashes
