1.8 Update

I logged into the mincraft 1.5.3 and it shows "ready to play 1.7.2" there is no update to 1.8, and I didn't have any issues updating my laptop to 1.8, my desktop is a much better computer and in fact it was what I had been running Minecraft on till about a year ago.
