Wolves not responding to stand (MCPE 0.9.5)

I was playing survival as the host of a server, it was only me and one other person. The guest had a hard time taming wolves, used upwards of 50 bones and then when he finally tamed a wolf, he would not get the bar at the bottom telling it to stand. He moved all around the dog for a very long time and the bar would not come up, please help.
