Local multiplayer is not working

What I expected to happen was...:
I tried to join my brother on minecraft through the same wifi but it will not work

What actually happened was...:
It just says locating server then closes the app

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open a world for your friend to join
2. ...get them to join you must be connected to the same wifi
3. ...then it happens
