I can't open my minecraft

I can't play minecraft whenever I try to open it minecraft the minecraft launcher just loads until one point it like stops working.This has been happening to me for a week at first I tought it's just my pc, I am starting to thinking I wasted my money for this.(This is my first time reporting so please forgive me if I don't fill up other things or I didn't put it in the correct box)
