New launcher won't load past "Download job 'Version & Libraries' started (8 threads, 1 files)"

when ever i have tried launching minecraft using the snapshot launcher the launcher stops when it reaches

i am on a laptop with windows 7 and i updated my java last month

i have tried redownloading the launcher and logging on with different versions but neither works this has been happening since 13w17a but iv only just gotten to the point where my frustration has betten my in ablitay to figure out how to post issues
