It won't open newer versions of minecraft 1.7.3-1.7.9 and in other snapshots

What I expected to happen was...:
Open to the minecraft title screen
What actually happened was...:
It wen't back to the launcher

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open minecraft (only for me and some other people)
2. use the latest version of minecraft or 1.7.3 and above
3. and press play after it loads it will show the minecraft symbol and go back to the launcher
