Upon downloading the Minecraft Installer onto my new computer, the "log in" button (which is labeled "log out") is grayed out and unusable, as is the "play" button.

I downloaded the Minecraft installer from

https://minecraft.net/download

and installed the .exe. When I booted the exe, everything worked as normal until the launcher menu appeared. The log in button is grayed out and unselectable, as is the Play button. I can see the update notes, use their links, edit profiles, and view the developer's console, but actually playing the game is impossible.
