Launcher crashes when separate drive is selected

Whenever I select a new directory (drive X) on the new SSD I just installed, the launcher will immediately close. I cannot find any corresponding crash logs in any minecraft directory, but would appreciate any help locating them. I can reproduce this 100% of the time.
