My launcher has an extremely long 1 byte download

So, I recently ran into some trouble on accessing Java Edition because of this really long download that takes only 1 BYTE! I went to my Minecraft web page and saw that I should still buy Java edition even if I already bought Java edition. CAN ANYONE EXPLAIN TO ME WHAT'S GOING ON?!?! So then, I'm currently forced to play bedrock, eugh...
