Minecraft b1.7.3 and rd-20090515 are playable without purchasing Minecraft.

I installed the beta version of minecraft b1.7.3, from the official launcher. I started playing it and it went well. I didn't buy any version of minecraft however. I tried the first version  of Minecraft too (rd-20090515) and that worked as well.
