Whenever I try to launch the 1.8.9 version my game instantly crashes.

Whenever I try to launch the 1.8.9 version from the official Minecraft Launcher, it instantly crashes.
In the launcher it gives the message "This is an older game version that doesn't support the latest safety features."

The crash report gives the following message: 
"The game crashed whilst unexpected error
Error: java.lang.RuntimeException: No OpenGL context found in the current thread."

Exit code: -1

When I launch 1.8.9 version on Badlion Client however it does launch properly and works just fine. On the other hand it doesn't work for Lunar Client either, for which I already went to Lunar Support and they referred me to Mojang Support.
I hope this issue can be resolved.
