Unable to Create Profile

I'm unable to crate a Java Edition profile for my son. He's using my gamepass account to play on the PC. I'm able to create a user under my account, but he's unable to do so in his. Username is XanderButter976.

It recognizes the name is unique, but once I click submit it throws a failed to create profile box in the top right.
