Minecraft login error

I have downloaded and installed Minecraft every way I can find or know how and no matter what I do the launcher will not let me log in! It will not even give me the option of logging in. I get

An unexpected issue occurred; we are sorry for the inconvenience. Please try restarting your Launcher. If that does not resolve the issue, please log a bug report HERE.

OR

Failed to load the page.

Please check your internet connection and try Reload again.

Error message: ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED (code=-105).

 

I've purged, removed and uninstalled to reinstall and get stuck before I can even get a login page. There is nothing wrong with my internet connection as everything else works fine as does the PC I'm putting MC on that I am using to write this! I have tried Wine to run it.

I have had a help ticket into Microsoft which literally gave me no assistance and took 2 months to tell me so.

I have posted to Ubuntu help forums and been ignored. Now I'm reporting it as a bug in hopes of someday playing the game again that I've been playing since 2007.

I am on a fresh install of Ubuntu 22.04 everything is updated daily, the specs of the machine outstrip most laptops now.

Please fix this!
