error creating profile

After they gave away Minecraft Java Edition to users who had Minecraft Bedrock, I was trying to play java edition, but every time I try to start it, it asks me to create a username (I already have a registered microsoft account) and when I put a password name tells me error when creating the profile name, this does not let me use java edition.
