Modded versions cannot launch

Basically I tried to launch Fabric with the vanilla launcher, and i learned that I cannot open modded versions of the game, I tried getting other versions as well, and I tried to use forge, but this didn't fix my problem. The only work around I have found is using GD Launcher, or MultiMC.
