Failure to launch Java Edition

I recently encountered problems with the launcher where the launcher wouldn't even open because it was "already running" even though it wasn't. I finally got the launcher to open and now I am receiving and error with the exit code "-1073741819". I can't launch java edition and probably bedrock as well.
