Iron boots turn into dirt

Iron boots appear to become a block of dirt, even when worn- they don't appear at all on the outside. When enchanted, the boots appear as one face of dirt with the enchant effect. This only effects me (ben121neb, on a LAN server, non-host). attatched are pictures rom two viewpoints, mine and turkey0007 's. To him they appear normal.
