Couldn't connect to minecraft services error message

For a few days now, when i try to play minecraft the launcher gives me the "couldn't connect to minecraft services" error message and the button says "Play demo" rather than "Play", making me play only the demo world.

Restarting my pc didn't help, and relogging in the launcher also didn't help.

I haven't seen anyone else put a ticket for this, but i hope i'm not the only one having this issue.

Update: tried reinstalling the launcher and now i can't even open it, i have an error saying that the core file's missing (image below)
