Minecraft Launcher won't open on Linux Debian

Minecraft Launcher won't open. When I click on it, it says it's updating, but won't start. It has been doing this for days and I've tried reinstalling Minecraft, updating and restarting my computer, and it doesn't fix it. The only thing that makes it open is if I update the launcher from my laptop's update manager, but then I am signed out and cannot sign back in with my Microsoft account (I never made a Mojang account, since my Minecraft account was made in early 2021)

I am using Linux (Debian Ubuntu specifically)
