Minecraft Launcher does NOT download Minecraft windows 10

Hi, when I try to download Minecraft Windows 10, having bought it in my account, the download remains in inactive status, and does not let me pause or cancel the update.
I have seen quite a few tutorials but nothing has solved it, and I would like to play my minecraft. Thank you.
