"Unable to update the Minecraft Native Launcher" error on Ubuntu

Hello, I have a problem with the Minecraft Launcher on Ubuntu.

When I launch the Minecraft Launcher after having installed it for the first time from the minecraft.net website (deb executable), it displays "Updating Minecraft Launcher: Downloading update fIles", with a loading bar.

Once the bar is complete, the window closes, and if I launch it from the terminal, I get

MessageBox(Minecraft Launcher): Unable to update the Minecraft Native Launcher. 

If I try to rerun it, the same thing happens. I am on Ubuntu 20.04 LTS.
