Minecraft for Windows incompatible with Launcher

I have purchased Minecraft Java edition and would like to try the bedrock version. When I start the Launcher and open the Minecraft for Windows Tab it is not possible to play, as the green play button is blocked and states that it is incompatible with the Launcher.

 

I am running Windowns 10 Pro 21H2, the launcher version is Windows 10.0 2.3.240.

 

I have updated my graphic card driver to the latest version.

Could you please advise of another possible solution?
