Minecraft for windows says "incompatible with launcher"

when i opened the launcher to play a new realm with my friends on this edition, it displayed this message instead of the play button, i have java edition already installed.

I have tried to download the launcher again but it wouldn't download, and I've tried logging out and into my Microsoft account but THAT still hasn't worked. I haven't seen any fixes anywhere that work or are specifically relating to this problem so i have crated this post in hopes there actually is one! thank you for helping!
