Failed to create profile

When I open the minecraft launcher through the microsoft store and try to load minecraft java edition I get an error saying "Failed to create profile" but im able to load the bedrock version of minecraft. My user name gets the green tick but it still wont work. I think its an issue with the launcher but I can only play bedrock and dungeons
