When I Try to open the Minecraft Launcher it opens for a second before closing/crashing.

My launcher was Updating but I had to cancel it to avoid my laptop crashing and when I next tried to use it it said that it was corrupted (sorry no footage/screenshots). So I uninstalled the launcher and reinstalled it. When I try to open it is opens with a grey screen but then closes/crashes. I still have the original launcher files.
